Dawna Ashby was appointed the next Chief Academic Officer in Garrett County, effective July 1st. This critical role will oversee curriculum, instruction and academic strategy to drive student success across Garrett County. The selection follows a comprehensive search to fill the vacancy created by Dr. Nicole Miller, who will transition to serve as the next Superintendent of Garrett County Schools. Mrs. Ashby currently serves as the GCPS Director of Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
