A house on Loartown Road, southeast of Frostburg was destroyed by fire Sunday afternoon. Two adults and an infant were displaced by the fire. Firefighters had to shuttle water from a fill site, because there were no hydrants in the area of the fire. The home was located in the 16,000-block of Loartown Road. An explosion from a ruptured fuel tank occurred early in the operation. Losses were placed at $125,000 and nearly 25,000 gallons of water were used to control the blaze. The home was declared a total loss.
