The legality of a private county meeting, which was set to include legal advice over potential litigation with the town of Lonaconing, was questioned by a citizen during the commissioners’ meeting yesterday. According to the Cumberland Times-News, county officials claim Lonaconing has yet to repay a more than $550,000 debt that began in 2023. Commissioners Dave Caporale and Bill Atkinson agreed to meet in closed session; Commissioner Creade Brodie was absent.
