FINAL HEARING SET FOR SOLAR PROJECT

There will be one final hearing on a proposed solar generating facility on Cash Valley Road. The hearing will be held Thursday evening at 6 p.m. at the LaVale Library. Solar Star Allegany South has applied to the Maryland Public Service Commission, for the authority to construct an energy generating station. The location would be in the vicinity of Helmstetter’s Curve, between Cumberland and Frostburg at 11515 Cash Valley Road. Some residents of the area are not in favor of the project, but the Allegany County Commissioners say they have no power to stop it.
