Dolly Parton knows how to surprise fans. On Wednesday, the singer made a surprise appearance during the grand opening of Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop. Parton greeted the crowd and took some time to explain why she decided to be a partner in the travel stop saying she wanted to have a place where everyone felt welcome while traveling. She also took a friendly jab at the travel center chain Buc-ee’s saying “well, I couldn’t leave it to the beavers.” According to Entertainment Weekly, Parton’s last public appearance before she cancelled her Las Vegas residency was in March for the opening season of her Dollywood amusement park.
