Maryland Governor Wes Moore is expected to deliver a Fourth of July speech titled “The Work of Patriotism” in contrast to President Trump’s address to the nation. The governor tells Politico he believes President Trump will focus his speech on himself and he will draw a contrast between patriotism and nationalism. A spokesman for Moore says the governor will argue that nationalism is about allegiance to a person, a party, or a movement – while patriotism is about allegiance to the country and the people who make it worth fighting for.
