MAN CHARGED WITH BURGLARY AND AN ARSON THREAT

Cumberland resident Ajax Benjamin Zavitz was arrested, after he allegedly broke into a home on Maryland Avenue, and threatened the occupants with a weapon. He also threatened to burn down the home. He was charged with burglary, making an arson threat and having a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, among other counts. He was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond.
