HANCOCK MAN ARRESTED IN CUMBERLAND

A Hancock man who allegedly set a house on fire in Washington County, was arrested by Cumberland City Police on Wednesday. Forty-year-old Joseph Brian Potter is accused of intentionally setting fire to a home in the 12500-block of Seavolt Road in Hancock. Potter had allegedly threatened to set the home on fire before it was reported. Potter was later released into the custody of the Deputy State Fire Marshals and taken to the Washington County Detention Center. He was charged with first-degree arson, arson threat, first-degree malicious burning and malicious destruction of property over $1,000. He is currently being held without bond in the Washington County Detention Center.
