Sixty-three-year-old Hyndman resident Troy Paul Kiel was arrested, after allegedly firing a rifle he was pointing at children. He was charged with five counts of simple assault and reckless endangerment, along with one count of disorderly conduct. The parents of the children allege that Kiel had been yelling at the children, believing they had previously caused damage to his property. They alleged Kiel had pointed a rifle at them, before firing a shot at the ground. He was arraigned and sent to the Bedford County prison with bail set at 10-per cent of $40,000. A preliminary hearing has been set for August 12th.
