The body of the missing swimmer from Wapacoma Campground was recovered yesterday morning. The swimmer’s family has been notified. The West Virginia Department of Natural Resources remains the lead investigative agency. Two children who were in the water with the woman, and they made it to shore. Assisting in the search was the Maryland State Pollice Aviation Command Trooper 3, based at the Frederick Regional Airport, who assisted in the search. The victim was described as an experienced swimmer, who had gone swimming on the river several times in the past. There is no additional information to release at this time.
