Nashville International Airport is another step closer to being renamed in honor of the late Dolly Parton. The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on Friday to move forward with the plan. A final name has not been chosen. The board said it’s “working closely with the appropriate parties to thoughtfully determine how Dolly Parton’s name and legacy will be incorporated.” Tennessee Governor Bill Lee said he wanted to see the airport named after Parton following her death last month.
