NO VOTE WILL BE TAKEN ON SUSPENSION OF FEDERAL GAS TAX

There will be no action on Maryland Congressman Andy Harris’ bill to suspend the federal fuel tax for three months.  House Speaker Mike Johnson said leadership ultimately decided against a vote after it became clear there wasn’t agreement on the measure within the GOP conference.  The Republican Harris, who chairs the House Freedom Caucus, issued a statement following the decision.  Harris said “Republican swamp creatures are obviously tone deaf to Americans’ concerns over fuel costs,” refusing to even let the House have a vote to temporarily suspend the federal fuel tax during this time of conflict.
