WOMAN RESCUED AFTER FALL FROM DAN’S ROCK

A 35-year-old woman, who was at the Dan’s Rock Overlook taking Homecoming pictures of her daughter, fell approximately 50 feet on Saturday. The woman, who was trying to retrieve her daughter’s hat, when she fell. Trooper Five, which was returning from a trip to Ruby Memorial hospital, transported the woman back to Morgantown. She had been five to 10 feet under a rock cut, and was extricated, using a system of ropes, anchors and pulleys. Dan’s Rock is the highest point in Allegany County, at an elevation of 2,898 feet on Dan’s Mountain.
