Maryland Governor Wes Moore and Republican challenger Dan Cox traded sharp attacks during their only debate of the campaign. Cox pressed Moore on whether he would serve a full second term if reelected, but the governor declined to give a direct yes-or-no answer. Moore defended his record on jobs and economic development while blaming President Trump for many of the state’s economic challenges. The candidates also sparred over the budget, taxes, infrastructure projects and speculation about Moore’s possible national political ambitions.
