The Maryland State Board of Elections says mail-in ballots are now being counted ahead of early voting for the November 3rd general election. Officials say the public may observe the canvass of mail-in ballots and there’s more information on how to do that at vote-dot-md-dot-gov. Elections Administrator Jared DeMarinis says more than 600-thousand people use mail-in voting in the state and more than 100-thousand ballots had been returned by the first day of canvassing. Results of the canvass will be held until the polls close on election day. Early voting begins on October 22nd.
