Federal authorities are investigating several letters with suspicious substances mailed to addresses nationwide, including congressional and election offices. The FBI, U.S. Capitol Police and U.S. Postal Inspection Service are working together on the case and investigators believe there may be more than a hundred letters in circulation containing a white powder. The Inspection Service intercepted a suspicious letter addressed to the Pennsylvania Department of State last week. At least 15 states have reported suspicious letters sent to election offices.
