A new memorial honoring the veterans of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm has opened in Washington, DC. The memorial at 23rd Street and Constitution Avenue was officially dedicated on Saturday. Legislation authorizing the memorial was signed in 2014, and ground was broken in 2022. It honors roughly 700-thousand U.S. service members who took part in the Gulf War, which took place between 1990 and 1991.
