The state Attorney General’s office has subpoenaed the West Virginia Rivers Coalition for 10 years of records. The subpoena is part of a consumer protection inquiry into the group’s climate claims. The environmental group responded with a federal lawsuit, calling the investigation retaliation against protected speech. The Attorney General’s office filed its response yesterday, in line with a judge’s order. A hearing is set for 1 p.m. Thursday.
